The Villa
The Imperial
Administration of Eboracum are prepared to give you (yes that is right
give) an extensive Roman villa once the home of a retired
Senator.
It is a classic Roman style villa on the outskirts of the the town (but behind the walls) in a large garden with fountains containing statues of naked ladies, and comical fish.
It has rooms arranged in two stories around a large courtyard paved with a mosiac depicting Jupiter smiting Demons.
Rooms are as follows:
- Seven opulent bedroom suites.
- Quarter fors up to 24 servants.
- A large kitchen.
- A large bath with hot and cold running water fed by two very large water tanks.
- A sizeable smithy/forge.
- Stables for 12 horses.
- Three large rooms that can be converted to an alchemical laboratory, a Wizard's workshop and whatever else you want.
The building is in excellent condition, but is unfurnished.
The cost to fully fit it out including state of the art Alchemical and Wizard work areas and really cool Roman furniture is 8,000gp.
You would own the house and be responsible for its upkeep.
Under Roman law one of you would have to hold the property title unless you register as a guild in which case corporate ownership is possible.
To run this place properly you would need:
- An Alchemist and an apprentice.
- A Wizard/Druid/Cleric apprentice to look after the Wizard's workshop.
- A cook.
- Six general servants (kitchen hands, chamber maids, laundresses etc).
- Two gardeners.
- A smith and an apprentice.
- A groom and two stable hands.
All of these people can be readily supplied by the Administration, but you would have to look after them (ie pay and feed them etc).
There is plenty of space for further building if you want more space.
A homeowner's dream!! and a fitting reward for the heroes.
